This map depicts the geographic scope of reported deaths in Lake Michigan. A personal project of mine to practice various techniques, this map serves as a cautionary tale of the importance of water safety on the Great Lakes. I gathered the data from the Great Lakes Surf Project, a nonprofit organization that has been tracking Great Lakes drownings 2010 as part of its efforts to promote water safety in the region. I developed the map in ArcGIS Pro and Adobe Illustrator.
