Public Art Guided Walking Tour

July 2024

This ArcGIS StoryMap presents a guided walking tour to public art in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. The 2.5 mile tour starts at La Grande Vitesse by Calder, which was installed in 1969 and was the first civic sculpture jointly financed by federal and private funds, and ends at another first: the city’s first street mural, Rainbow Road, which was installed in 2019 to commemorate Pride month and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. I developed the map using Esri FieldMaps and ArcGIS Online. I developed the map and story as part of my Graphic Design in Cartography course at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
